fruit_sq Apple Filled Acorn Squash - This phenomenal, fruit filled squash recipe is an oven baked sensation. While adding brown sugar to baked squash is common, we took it a tasty, sweet step further with the addition of fresh apples and chopped walnuts for a real farmhouse style side dish. This very simple recipe looks like something you spent hours on, making it ideal, for your next dinner party.

Ingredients to make Apple Filled Acorn Squash

3 Acorn Squash
2 Apples, chopped
1/2 c Chopped Walnuts
1 T Grated Orange Peel
1/2 c Brown Sugar
2 T Margarine, melted

Directions to make Apple Filled Acorn Squash

Step 1:Preheat oven to 350 deg F. Cut squash in half lengthwise and scrape out seeds. Place cut side down in baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
Step 2:Mix the other ingredients. Turn squash cut side up, fill with apple mix and continue baking for 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.
