While adding brown sugar to baked squash is common, we took it a tasty, sweet step further with the addition of fresh apples and chopped walnuts for a real farmhouse style side dish. This very simple recipe looks like something you spent hours on, making it ideal, for your next dinner party.Prep Time: 5 mins

Ingredients to make Apple Filled Acorn Squash

3 Acorn Squash
2 Apples, chopped
1/2 c Chopped Walnuts
1 T Grated Orange Peel
1/2 c Brown Sugar
2 T Margarine, melted

Directions to make Apple Filled Acorn Squash

Step 1:Preheat oven to 350 deg F. Cut squash in half lengthwise and scrape out seeds. Place cut side down in baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
Step 2:Mix the other ingredients. Turn squash cut side up, fill with apple mix and continue baking for 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.
